South Bicycle Rentals is operated by a Malta-based sole trader. Every rental is handled personally — no call centre, no franchise.

Most bicycle rentals in Malta are bolted onto hotel lobbies, beach kiosks, or tour operators who want you on an e-bike or a buggy or anything with a higher margin. This isn't that. It's a small shed of well-kept city and touring bicycles, a single flat rate, and a phone number that somebody actually answers.

You book on WhatsApp. You get a reply within the hour — from Kyle, not from a call centre. You pay a 10% deposit via Revolut, send a photo of your ID, and collect the bike at the pickup address in Il-Kappara. When you're done, you bring it back and pay the balance. That's it.

We keep the rental terms short and the fine print honest. There's no mileage limit, no surge pricing on weekends, no minimum rental. The deposit covers damage; the daily rate is what it says on the site. If anything goes wrong — a flat, a lost key, a change of plans — you message the same number that you booked on.

The rules.

Identification

Any government-issued ID. We keep the photo for 30 days, then delete it (see Privacy).

Minimum age

Riders must be 16 or older. Under-18s need a parent or guardian on the WhatsApp chat.

Late returns

€20 per day past the agreed end date.

Damage

Deposit forfeited in the event of material damage or loss.

Rental length

No maximum — one day to several weeks, whatever you need.
